NEW COATING VS LAMINATE ON PLASTIC LABELS
Pressures from our customers to cut printing costs but still maintain quality is a demanding challenge that MRP strives to achieve. When a customer requires the above plus the durability of a self adhesive label that requires NO lamination, yet still remain robust enough to maintain it’s quality, we had to find an answer.
Firstly we used the lamination procedure as our benchmark for testing, this included rubbing with petrol, immersing in water for a 24 hour period and aggressive rubbing.
To try and emulate this we called in our material and ink suppliers to find a formula to equal the results of the lamination testing.
Eventually after rigorous and various testing plus the adjustment of our working methods a solution was finally developed.
This exciting new ‘Production Method’ brings to our customers a cost effective saving with no deterioration whatsoever in quality, thus eliminating the use of lamination.
